2007.03.25 | the corporate wheels are turning

so, i've been called by two companies about work. that's a relief. they are both recruitment agencies that have clients looking for engineers. i've been on an interview with one company already and will be going to the second one on monday afternoon. they are both looking for embedded software developers which is great (wasn't to keen to do normal software development). during the first interview i found out that even though other people had sent their cvs in for the job, they had not been called in for an interview. this is because they don't know the english language. as such, my not knowing polish fluently does not seem to be that much of a problem. the first company that is actually looking for the developers is verifone. they deal with "countertop payment terminals" and are apparently quick big here in europe (ie. most stores/restaurants use their systems). the other company i will find out about tomorrow. in any case, i will know if the first company is interested in me working for them in <= 2 weeks. i went to visit my gran from my father's side, my father's sister and her son today. was very nice actually. will probally be seeing them more often. my cousin is thirteen and seems to be a bit of a world of warcraft maniac. for someone of his age, he's quite set up in his room. apart from his desktop computer, laptop and 20" hd lcd tv, he also has a nintendo ds, a psp, a ps2 and an xbox 360. so you'd be right to guess that i spent some time playing xbox in his room :). seeing as he wasn't using his psp, he's lent it to me for the mean time. i suspect my thumbs will stop working quite soon while i play grand theft auto: liberty city stories, tekken, ridge racer and some other game i haven't tried yet.
