i've been finding recently that i don't have quite as much time as i used to. that is a rather nasty side-effect of having a job. i find that i only have about 4-5 hours of free time during the day. that is further offset if i have to get some groceries before i come home. but despite this limiting factor, i suppose there are benefits to working full-time. for one, you always have something to do (except when you're avoiding doing it :). second, you get to meet with similar minded people. oh, and who can forget the financial benefits which allows me to play all that much more when weekend comes.
and on the topic of financial gains, just the other day i finally took the plunge and bought a decent digital camera. so from now on, you can expect to see some high res photos of warszawa and the various bit of poland that i happen to photograph. for those of you that like specifics, it's panasonic tz3 in blue. a large part of why i bought that particular model is because it has a 10x optical zoom in a rather small (relative to an slr camera) package and that it takes motion videos at a near hd resolution.
so, time for some more notes about my job. one really nice thing that i'm finding about samsung is that because it's a korean company, they try very hard to improve morale among the troops, and as such they often have company events. currently there is a monthly kręgle (ten-pin bowling) competition which is a lot of fun. i really wish they held it more often. i suppose it isn't because of the fact that they provide free beer which if you let a whole group (+- 80 people showed up last time) of poles lose at a bar, you'll quickly become bankrupt and destitute.
also... the week before last, a few of the office guys and i went to play poligon asg. basically it's like paintball, but instead of paint balls, the guns shoot plastic bb pellets. the battleground was amazing. it was not too big and was really nicely done up. there where a few broken-down cars, several bunkers and a two complete tunnel systems running under the overgrown field. we played several scenarios from v.i.p, snipers to team deathmatch. when you get shot, it doesn't hurt that much provided you have some layer of clothing between you and the pellet and the visor is essential. i'd probably have one less eye at my disposal if it weren't for the visor.
as you might expect, i've taken and uploaded some photos. i've even taken some photos of my place *gasp*. sadly i have not taken any photos of the inside of the flat yet i need to clean up a bit first :). one thing is that if you want to see the photos in their proper resolution, you'll have to download them from picasa as the images shown on the website are scaled :/. i've also not uploaded the asg photos, but i should do that soon.various bits of warsaw (now in HD)
